Students and teachers from 10 London schools joined us for an inspiring session with US Ambassadors Matthew Barzun at the Aviva offices.
An account from Gabriella, a student from Queen Elizabeth’s Girls’ School:
“On Wednesday 22nd June a group of sixth form students were chosen to attend The Women of the Future Ambassador’s Programme event. The session was led by the US Ambassador for the UK, gamf.net Mathew Barzun, who spoke about the relationship between the UK and the USA. It was a privilege to listen to someone who has worked alongside Barack Obama and is a very prominent figure in both the USA and the UK. It was a great experience to discuss the issues at hand in the USA, and how the UK and the USA have worked cooperatively to solve some of these problems. It was also very inspirational as the event was aimed at young women to inspire us to become leaders to help solve the world’s major problems that face us today and in the future.”
Lisa Thefaut, a teacher from Ursuline High School elmofed.com who is regularly involved in the Ambassadors Programme event, shares with us the impacts of the session on her students:
“Once again thank you for such a wonderful event, my students got so much out of it – I wish every girl in the school could have been at such an important and informative event and one that I think changed everyone’s perception of the US, its role in the world and relationship with the UK. Thank you so much for the exceptional opportunities you provide our students – it makes such a difference.“
